A cross hatch adhesion test is a simple test uses cutting tools and conducted using pressure-sensitive tape to determine the adhesion quality of a coating.
This method can be used for paint and powder coatings up to a thickness of 250µm (10mils) as per ASTM D3359 & ISO 2409 Standards. For higher thickness multipurpose gauge X Cut Method is suggested by ASTM D3359, ASTM D6677 standard.
