A CES 409 Digital Surface Profile Gauge is a specialized instrument used to measure the surface roughness or peak-to-valley height of a prepared substrate, such as metal or concrete. It provides accurate digital readings to ensure proper surface preparation for coatings, paints, or treatments, enhancing adhesion and performance. Caltech India is the manufacturer and supplier of CES 409 Digital Surface Profile Gauge. Surface profile gauge is extremely useful to measure the profile height of a surface. The degree of the surface profile on the surface affects a coating’s overall performance and determines aspects such as adhesion, coverage and overall volume of coatings used. It is also called as surface profile meter and surface profile gage.
When measuring the roughness of a surface, the sensor is placed on the surface and then uniformly slides along the surface by driving the mechanism inside the tester. The sensor gets the surface roughness by the sharp built-in probe. This roughness causes displacement of the probe which results in change of inductive amount of induction coils so as to generate analogue signal, which is in proportion to the surface roughness at output end of phase-sensitive rectifier. The exclusive DSP processes and calculates and then outputs the measurement results on LCD. It has USB, RS-232 data cable with software and also Bluetooth data output with software.
